But the state of "transformation" can range from "highly efficient and effective" to "barely making it to the other side"! The cleaner and clearer the path from input to output, the less friction and the smoother everything happens for everyone connected with your business. Suppliers are happier, employees are happier, customers are happier and YOU are happier!
As I’ve mentioned in previous blog posts, without systems a business is not separate from the people working in the business. This means that you are a slave to the business and the moment you or your key staff leave is the moment that your products and services deteriorate.
You must capture, document, or record your business processes in a format that is easy to communicate. Ease of process communication means that you can quickly receive feedback, test, and improve systems to optimize them. Optimized processes enable your business to grow reliably and remove the dependence on you or key staff members.
Not only does the training of new staff become easier and faster but existing staff are able to work more efficiently. Staff have all the information they need to complete each aspect of their work and the business owner knows exactly how that work is growing the business and creating success.
